Calling all cross country ski enthusiasts! Led by our experienced EcoAdventure guides, ski deep into the heart of the snow blanketed Lion's Head Provincial Nature Reserve , through the internationally acclaimed Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere. This winter expedition will take you on secluded backcountry routes for a thrilling lifetime experience.
This experience is rated moderate with a some challenging sections. Moderate exertion over a few hours in winter conditions required.
You'll traverse this winter wonderland, through a mixed hardwood forest, your skis carrying you over rolling terrain, between rocky outcroppings. Every bend in the trail is a new opportunity to experience this magnificent world of snowy adventure. This will be a day to remember! Descend from atop the escarpment down to the frozen coast of Georgian Bay (“the sixth great lake”). Here we will explore the shoreline at Mackay's Harbour and re-energise wth a bite to eat. If conditions allow, we will return from MacKay’s Harbour under towering 200’ cliffs along the icy shore and experience views only available in this white and silent season.
